ENGINEERING
The Technical
Atelier.

We build digital products that create real value in the world. Not just features. Not just code. Solutions that actually matter. Over the years, we've worked across industries like real estate, business intelligence, supply chain, and healthcare, to name a few.

Where We're Based
Our team spans multiple locations across Greece, mainly Thessaloniki and Athens, as well as Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

Office Situation

/
We’ve been remote-first since day one, long before it became the norm.
/
Meeting in person twice a week works best for us. It helps us stay connected and collaborate better.
/
Throughout the year, the entire fromScratch team gathers for a Townhall session where Engineering, Design, Product, and Business all share what they’ve been working on to see the bigger picture.
How we Work
We optimize for flow and results. Our rituals are designed by engineers, for engineers, eliminating the noise of traditional corporate structures.
Flexible Schedule
Our schedule is flexible, focusing on when we perform best, as long as there's enough overlap for collaboration.
Asynchronous standups
We start with a daily standup, fully asynchronous, to keep everyone aligned without the meeting fatigue
Bi-weekly milestones
We work in bi-weekly milestones. Gitlab is our single source of truth for code, issues, and documentation.
Quality & Code Reviews
Every solution goes through strict code review by senior engineers. UI changes also pass a Design team quality check. Quality is not optional.

Technologies We Use

Even though we have some go-to technologies, we're never limited by them. Over the years, we've seen that different problems call for different approaches. So depending on the product, we pick the stack that makes the most sense.

Sharing Is Caring

We strongly believe that sharing is what moves the software world forward.

Every Friday, we host what we call 'Learning Friday.' One or two team members dive deep into a topic they've explored and share it with the rest of the team. The topics come either from personal curiosity or from our ever-growing 'tech pool.' Things move fast in our world, and staying sharp is a team effort.

Learning is not something we squeeze in when we have time. It's built into our process.

Just as we learn from others, we share our own ideas, approaches, mistakes, and tools with the wider community in several ways:

/

We publish Medium articles on topics that gave us real insights.

/

We open-source libraries and learning material that others can build on.

/

We organize technical in-person events like Hacktoberfest, which we've hosted for four consecutive years, and the Practical AI Meetup.

Want to Join?
Here's a quick way to see if you would be a good fit for our team. By comparing your own preferences and working style with the points below, you can get a sense of how well we align.
We Love
Seeing the big picture; from a single line of code to production.
Taking ownership of our work and driving it forward.
Keeping things clean and tidy; it always pays off in the long run.
Automating processes, so we can focus on the work that truly matters.
Learning and experimenting with new technologies; our codebases evolve with us.
Leveraging the latest features of our tools; we don’t just upgrade, we make them count.
Sharing knowledge within the team and with the wider community through talks, workshops, and events.
Collaborating through code reviews and being open to fixes and improvements; we know the best solutions come from working together.
Not Our Thing
Endless meeting ceremonies; we sync when it’s actually needed.
Strict development flows imposed “because the books say so”; we follow a process that works for our team.
One-size-fits-all solutions; not every problem requires a hammer.
Show Us Your Skills
Skip the generic interview. Take our coding challenge and show us how you think. All submissions get a code review by a human.
